Fixed Mode for Slice Flag Needed as well as...

It would be very nice to have the option to be able to FIX the center frequency in the middle of the display, instead of the Slice going to the right or left and then moving the entire spectrum scope (in both the display on the M models and SmartSDR). I can't figure out out this hasn't been requested yet! I have been told that this feature is available on 3rd Party Apps... Most times I do not want to use my home PC with SmartSDR, that is why I bought the more expensive 8600M! If the feature is available in the Flex API, then it should be included in both the M versions of the rigs and SmartSDR, especially since Flex Radios are much more expensive than other brands. Many times I want to use my 8600M all by itself, and don't want to use my home PC! If a Temperature Meter is available in the Flex API then it should also be included in the M versions of the rigs and SmartSDR (like it is in the Aurora), for the same reasons I stated above. And now that Flex users are paying additional fees for features (including myself) for software releases, all these features in the Flex API should definitely be included! Doesn't Flex Radio want to produce the best radio available (it could only help them sell more units)?

John…I don't have an M model so this may not apply.

In SSDR on the bottom left of the display there are two icons the look like magnifying glasses. If you click/tap the one with the + symbol the frequency will center on the display.

That is true on both the M Model and SmartSDR, however if one moves the VFO dial all the way to the right or left (and then beyond) the Silce receiver frequency will remain at the edge and the Spectrum with then move right or left. Those 2 icons are just used to center the Slice frequency and at the same time reduce or enlarge the audio passband on the spectrum scope. I would like the Slice frequency to stay fixed in the center of the Spectrum Scope/Waterfall.

Probably not what you are looking for, but, you can place the Slice receiver in the middle of the display and left click ( and hold) and drag the spectrum display back and forth and leave the Slice receiver in the middle.

I personally like to be able to place the RX frequency anywhere I want it.

I find it especially useful working CW DX. For example, I place the RX frequency to the left and expand the spectrum so I'm seeing say 10kHz to the right. I can then see all the stations calling the DX.

    As usual, just my 2¢.
