Freezing when moving to 20m on a remote flex running Maestro

I have a Flex 6400 that I have been running for a number of years remotely.

I have the latest FW now and I belive that I have been running into a interesting bug since.

When running the 6400 using the SmartSDR-sw from a Win PC all seems to work fine.

But - When running the 6400 from my Maestro B I have the following funny thing happening.
Swapping between bands works 100% EXEPT for when I want to go to 20 meters.
The Maestro freezes. Completely quiet, no waterfall and something seems to be restarting.

Swapping for 20m when running remotely with SmartSDR from PC is no problem.

I'm puzzled from what I see. Next step would be to do a factory reset of the radio. But as the unit is remote on a island, I have a hard time doing it.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. / Tilman SM0JZT

You need to do a factory reset. That should resolve it.

  • Thank you Mike for the quick response.

Bearing in mind the remote station is very remote to me I would need to understand why I have this trouble and why the only solution is a factory reset (on site I guess).

Why is it that I have this trouble when running from my Maestro and NOT when running from a PC or iPad (also remote of course) ??

This is the recommendation from engineering and it has something to do with profiles being corrupted prior to the migration to v4. And, it has fixed similar issues when SSDR for Windows works and the Maestro fails.

You can try opening a support ticket and seeing what their recommendation is. Make sure you outline that this is a very remote station.
