Is it just me?

Since updating to V4.1.3 Basic my ANF is not working.

and the NB is still not fixed.

So for me things are going from bad to worse.!!

Move back down to 4.0.1 and see if you have the same result.

You might also want to try a radio reset to see if that clears the problem.

I agree ANF doesn't work on 4.1.3 on 6600. It does seem to take out the tones from a modulated AM signal but not the carrier. IE tune to WWV in USB mode and tune 1k low. It won't take out the carrier. The new SmartSDR+ options ANFL and ANFT do work if you have subscribed to that. Seem like in making the new options they broke the old options.

Radio Reset did not fix anything.

But moving back to V4.0.1 did bring back the ANF.

    NB is still not working.

So on my 6400 updates to v4.1.3

NB not fixed ANF not working as it should and it swapped my license from V3 back to V2

    Cheers Ken

I thought I was the only one having this issue.
    Radio is a 6700.
After updating to V4 basic, ANF no longer works. Reset to defaults made no difference.
Currently on 4.1.5. Went back to V4.0.1, made no difference.
I am not sure it is wise to go back to V3 so that has not been attempted.

WNB and NB are also ineffective.
All DSP functions worked in V3.

Please open a support ticket so this gets followed up on with engineering.

I have the same issue with ANF on my 6600. In version 3.x ANF would mask a carrier in the passband but in all v4.x versions ANF will not mask a carrier in the passband.

Same here with a 6400 - ANF does nothing at all to a carrier or birdie in the passband since the 4.1.3 'upgrade'

    Update:

In response to a Help desk ticket on the non-operational ANF, Flex engineering said they were able to reproduce the ANF issue on a 6700 running 4.1.5 basic. The response did not state if it was reproduced on the 6500 or the 6600 with basic as this ticket was specific to the 6700.
A tracking number has been assigned, no promise date was given for resolution.

NB and WNB mentioned in my previous post were not addressed in the help desk ticket submitted. The ANF is the most annoying and is what triggered the inquiry.

Thanks to Flex for the timely response.

I inherited a 6600 from a friend that passed away recently. It had version 3.4 on it. The ANF was exactly like I remember it being with my 6600M. I upgraded to v4.1.15 Basic. No difference. The ANF still couldn't Notch out a tone on top of a qso. It does fairly well with nothing but the tone present. And the Noise Reduction still couldn't remove the background noise, just as it has always been. I rolled back to v3.4 to get the sliders back as I did find a couple of instances where being able to adjust the levels did help.

I am waiting for my AU-520M to ship. I had planned to run it on Basic for a while. If the new hardware doesn't work better with the noise reduction and ANF I may go ahead and upgrade to Plus or Early Access. I hope they can fix the ANF and the noise reduction in Basic, with a future release. ( or even in Plus if it's possible with the old hardware)
