power-up sequence?

Not really. The TGXL really requires a power supply above 15VDC, so if you are having an issue, look there.
Both the PGXL and AG will continually try to connect to the radio every few seconds until it connects. If you are having an issue, the problem may be related with the network communications with the device. Try changing cables as a start.

Oh my, I'm running my TGXL on the same supply I'm running my AGXL, a 13.8V Astron. So, do you mean I need to get a 15V to what 20V supply for the TGXL?? I'll do it but what is the voltage range I should get?

The specs for the TGXL call out 12V-16V. But you're saying I should have 15V-16V on the TGXL? if so that's fine I just want to double check.
Thanks, Dennis, k0eoo

Mine works fine at 13.8

I run an Astron 13.8V power supply here and my TGXL tuner works fine!

At 13.8 VDC it all depends on how quick the voltage ramps up when turning on. If it ramps up too slow the fans on the TG. l will go full speed. The other issue with 13.8 VDC comes if you are using the same supply for radio, TG and other equipment. During TX, the voltage can drop too low.
We have found some people have had stability issues with crashes with TG XL 1.2.17 until they raised the voltage to 15 VDC. Some are using repurposed laptop supplies at 19 VDC. I use a Rig Expert Shack Master 600 set to 15 VDC on RX and have no issues. Voltage drops to about 14.78 on TX with 8600. TG, AG, band pass filters, and RigRunner 4005i connected.0 -
Thank you guys for your responses! Much appreciated! Dave, thank you for the insight into the TGXL functions. I am only running the AGXL and TGXL on that supply so voltage sag shouldn't be an issue. At some time in the future I think I'll put 15V on mine also.
Merry Christmas to all, Dennis, k0eoo

Keep in mind it is not only the voltage sag but also the amount of time it takes the voltage to reach its full output. If you have a supply that takes a little longer, the fans on TG XL may run at full speed.
