Maestro C Microphone Problem

K1ESE
K1ESE Member ✭✭✭

I'm having trouble getting the microphone to work with my Maestro C. I'm using the adapter purchased from Flex. The microphone is a Flex FHM-3.

The audio being transmitted is being distorted by a strong echo.

I have disconnected my other microphone, a Heil Handi Mic, from the radio. My receive audio source is the Maestro C. I am not using DAX and that program is not open.

The Handi Mic will not work with the Maestro C adapter at all, but the plug is mono. The FHM-3 plug is stereo.

What am I missing?

It sounds like your Monitor is on, or you have your Mic gain too high.

What does your LEVEL meter show when using the had Mic?

The monitor is off. The Level meter peak mark tops out at a bit more than -10 but never into the red.

i know this is an old post but had the same problem with the **** FHM-3 weird echos noise would get in, especially bad with the amp active RF2K-s the minute the amp was on it would wreck the audio. i happen to have a computer head set mic combo, JABRA head set, problem solve just plug it in, i put a separate foot switch for the ptt, so far its working with the amp,

Hi Peter, it sounds like RF is getting into the radio via the mic/PTT cable. Mix 31 ferrites might solve the issue.

make sure you connect it correctly; the mic connector s not used; see the other posts for the correct use of the "Y" connector
