v4.1.3 update went smooth on 8600 & 6700

v4.1.3 SSDR+ update went smooth on both the 8600 and 6700. They sure did a lot of fixes in these 30 days or so, see Release Notes. I did not export/import profiles and I did not do a Factory Reset, just followed instructions in Release Notes page 8. A factor reset is not required for an upgrade but is required if you are downgrading. This was one of the fixes.

I should note a couple things:

  1. Got SSDR+ for the 8600 on Oct.30th all new features enabled after v4.1.3 upgrade. Just over 30 days wait.
  2. Got SSDR+ for the 6700 on Nov.30th and all new features were also enabled, was only a couple days wait.

I will be testing both radios and watching the groups.io and this community to see others experience and try to report back on all the v4 features that got enabled.

@Mike VE3CKO Thanks a lot taking that road now. Which group.io are you using for Flex?

Same experience here Mike. I upgraded my new 8600 and my 2020 6400 without incident.

The NRL on the 6400 takes it to a whole new level. Typical watery sound, but the noise is mitigated to the degree that I can hear really weak signals down in the noise.

NRS on the 8600 is over the top! I can't imagine operating without it going forward. This one feature is worth the price of admission. I need to play with all the new options, but so far NRS is the winner - no watery sound, just very clear audio with NO noise. Even very weak sigs come through great.

CW auto tune works pretty well. Takes a good signal to work. I suspect that I will use this pretty often.

So far, I haven't been able to get ESC to work. Also, it looks like it changes audio volume when engaged. PLEASE don't do that. We all have different ears and different amounts of audio gain in our powered speakers. Bumping the audio up to 50% knocks me out of my chair. Same thing with a default sidetone volume setting of 80.

I will get on the air with the new S/W today and see how it all goes.
