SmartSDR+ releasing today
Best Answer

Seems there is very conflicting information - 3 types so far.
- From their website says it will happen automatically but says 31 days so that's tomorrow
2. From the comparison chart it says 30 November
3. From posts on this community Flex have made saying it will require a new release coming on 30 November being 4.1.x so would need to be installed.
So I think it's hard to believe anything right now, just have to wait and see.

Flex confirmed that the new features will come in a new release of Smart SDR, they won't just suddenly turn on.
Will need to wait for a new version of Smart SDR to be released, assuming that will be tomorrow or later.

That's unfortunate as it makes the original announced details incorrect. They could easily make the original announced features activate in code by tracking the current date and comparing it to the release date and on the 30th day, activate the new features. Making people continue to wait for a point release after the time they were supposed to become active isn't right. Whether it's tomorrow or next month before they release a point release to fix problems encountered so far with version 4, Flex Radio needs to make it clear how they plan to actually make the new features available to Plus users. All of their posts so far have led people to believe that they will be able to start using the new features 30 days after they were originally released. Not some undetermined time after that.

Here's the out for Flex Radio not making the new features available 30 days after they are announced.
Please note: Subscribers to SmartSDR+ Early Access will be able to use new features in the release at least 30 days prior to SmartSDR+ subscribers.
So, from this statement taken from Mike's post further up, it can very well be much longer than 30 days for Plus users to have access to the new features that Early Access users will be able to access. It certainly makes for some confusion. Especially since there have been posts that makes one think otherwise. Plus users won't have access to new features until there is a general release ( point release) . That should have been made much clearer than it has been explained. So, it may well be quite some time before the new features are available to Plus users.

So then how do they explain this.

My personal opinion. Flex should do what they communicated. If that needs to change because Flex thinks it is best, then they should clearly communicate the need to change to their customers in a timely manner (before the expected date). And if they don't want disgruntled customers, because of a change to what had been expected, they should make it right for those who were impacted.

It’s a bit confusing, but I anticipate it to be available tomorrow. At 12:01 AM, I’ll refresh my license, reboot my system, and check for any new features.

Should I stay up anxiously awaiting your confirmation of everything working later tonight?

No, not being released today. Likely December 2nd (subject to change). Watch for the next version release (maybe 4.1.2).
Thanks for your patience.

My understanding is that a "+" version (probably 4.1.x) will be made available to download.
However, it's unclear to me how I will receive a "+" enabled version as my purchase did not have any serial number.
I handle two remote 6400 radios and I only licensed one "+" to see if it's worth it for my second remote 6400.
Based on what Mike shared, SSDR+ "should" have been made available on November 30 (which is today). I assume that this date would change if the "early" beta testers found issues that need to be resolved.
I will closely follow Flex Radio's announcements to see if I will get the "+" or if it's still in the "beta" phase.

If you bought SmartSDR+ when you install the next version it will unlock all the features. If you are on SmartSDR Basic, then none of the features will be unlocked.

@Mike-VA3MW I'm sorry, but this doesn’t align with what many of us understood from the statements above — especially the topic marked as ‘answered’ in the forum. The messaging has been very unclear. I’m definitely not the only one who expected these features to be available today. Had I known otherwise, I would have purchased Early Access instead. The two screenshots clearly indicate that SmartSDR+ subscribers would receive the features by November 30th, which is exactly 31 days.
Lastly, do I need to downgrade to v3 and then upgrade back to v4 in order to receive the features now?
Let's ChatGPT Interpret this for us……
I bought SmartSDR+ on October 30, based on the print screen when should I expect to get the new Features?
Ziggy here — and good news, Edwin, I can give you a clear, exact answer based on both screenshots you posted.
✅ Your SmartSDR+ Purchase Date: October 30There are two relevant things in those screenshots:
1️⃣ From Mike-VA3MW’s chart (your first screenshot):The blue-circled note says:
“SSDR+ customer receive access by November 30, 2025.”
This line applies ONLY to the features marked with a red asterisk — the new advanced noise algorithms like:
- NRS – Spectral Subtraction with Voice Detection
- NRL – NR algorithm using LMS
- ANFL – ANF using LMS
- ANFT – ANF using FFT transform
- RNN – AI Noise Reduction
- Possibly more coming later
⚠️ These are future features, not released yet.
For regular SmartSDR+ customers, expected release is:
➡️ By November 30, 2025
2️⃣ From the SmartSDR+ “How it works” explanation (your second screenshot)This describes how Early Access vs Standard works:
You bought SmartSDR+ (not Early Access)
Unless you bought SmartSDR Early Release (SSDR-EA), you are on the normal plan.
Meaning:
Day 0–30 → EA Only (not you)
- Early Access buyers get features immediately.
Day 31 → Regular SmartSDR+ subscribers (this is you)
- You get access 30 days AFTER a feature officially releases.
BUT — those new features haven’t released yet.
⭐ So when do YOU (Edwin) get the new features?
So your 30-day clock never started.✔️ For the features included at launch (e.g., improved NR, NB, ANF, Noise Floor Scaling, DVK, ESC, CW Autotune, etc.)
You already have them — they are part of SmartSDR 4.0 today.
✔️ For the big new AI-based features (RNN, NRS, NRL, ANFT, etc.)
Based on the chart:
🟩 As a SmartSDR+ subscriber → You get them by November 30, 2025.
You do NOT get Early Access, so you wait until full public rollout.
🎯 Simple Summary for YouSince you bought standard SmartSDR+ on Oct 30:
You already have all features currently released.
You will get the new AI-based features automatically by November 30, 2025.
No action needed.
Your 8600 + Maestro C will unlock everything as it comes out.If you want, I can also list exactly which features you already have now on the 8600 and which ones you will get in 2025.
