New 8600 will not power on
I just bought a new 8600 from DX Engineering to replace my 6600M. I connected my 8600 to all of my existing setup and it will not power on. I validated my power supply is suppling voltage. I tried a different power supply and power cable. I'm not sure what is going on. I did put in a help desk ticket but being this late on a Friday I wanted to toss it out here to see if I get any guidance.

Do you hear the internal relay click while holding down the power button? If not, it's quite possible a connector inside the radio came loose. That,or the internal fuse is blown or missing. If none of these things help, it's time to open a Help Desk ticket. The radio may need to be sent back to Flex Radio for service.

I don't hear anything when I connect the power cable and nothing when I press the button it's just dead. I opened a ticket but just got a response saying they are busy and going to be a while. I hated to pull the cover without talking to anyone at flex, hate for them to say I did something. But disappointing staring at a $5,000 paper weight. Surprises me they don't have a tech support line. Say to call who you bought it from or open a help desk ticket. I called DX Engineering he was super nice but told me to open a ticket…

Hi Michael, I would check the fuse. It is under two boards, so a bit of a pain to get to, but not terrible. The act of opening the box won't void your warranty, but if you break something (not likely), it will. So, if you can unplug ribbon connectors without harming them, go for it. If not, you will need to wait.

If you bought it from Dx Engineering then surely its up to them to fix it, or replace it?

I found the problem, one of the fuse holders was actually broken. I called DX Engineering and they are going to replace it.

@AA5SH unrelated question but why do you have the radio from DX, and not directly from Flexradio.com? Just curious….

From DX I could get it shipped overnight and flex said it would have been at least 10 days (not sure if business or calendar) on their page and it was the same price.
