SmartSDR+ v4.0.1 A bust. Did anyone field test it???

My impression so far is 4.0.1 is a dud. I am NOT an Early Access subscriber, so can not comment on all features.

4.0.1 Basic on my 6600 radio has caused the NB to stop working completely. This is not about "missing sliders" or anything like that. PRIOR to the 4.0.1 basic update, the noise blanker was amazing. Now, the NB does NOTHING. It seems disabled. On or OFF makes no differeance on a local horse fence noise. I have submitted a ticket. HOWEVER, the NB does work on my 8600 as it did before!!!

The ESC function is activated on my 8600 with the SmartSDR+. It is completely non-functioning as others have commented. I mean, it does nothing at all no matter how the gain or phase are adjusted. It is DOA.

In summary, the v.4.0.1 basic has actually degraded my 6600, and the SmartSDR+ on my 8600 has added nothing at all.

My question (which will likely never be answered) is: "was this software roll-out field tested al all?" If it was field tested, then by whom? Wow…what a bust. Must be embarrassing for FLEX ?

    I too have raised a ticket on my feeling that the ESC function isn't working, but I've only had a holding reply

    I did a simple test where I split a feed from a RX loop antenna into the ANT 1 and RX B sockets. That way I feel that one should be able to get a null easily (as the amplitude and phases of the two diversity inputs would be the same). But the gain and phase sliders did nothing consistently, and certainly I couldn't find a null.

    Not surprisingly I couldn't get any null using two identical RX loops about 100m apart

    I could do with a clearer explanation of what the controls mean and effect, why the signal strength in the main slice jumps to S9+60 upon enabling ESC, and perhaps a video of the ESC function in use

    I'm disappointed having bought my 6700 in 2016 with the hope that something like ESC would be implemented to try out beam-steering and nulling

    I realise this isn’t the iOS discussion area, but this kind of relates the the lack of roadmap and testing etc….

    I’ve found 4.0.1 has broken the iOS app. There’s no audio and waterfall. I’ve not checked anything else.

    I’m really surprised by this as I’d have thought that FRS might have worked with Markus, the developer, to ensure this wouldn’t happen, given that it’s the official app.

    You may want to update your SmartSDR for iOS app as those issues have already been addressed.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor.
