Mike, I mentioned the problem with Winkeyer some time ago, and it has been solved wonderfully in version 3.10.10. Everything is OK at the moment, so I don't want to use 3.9.19 again.

Has anyone found a way to resolve the issues between slicemaster v0.11.0g and SmartSDR 3.10.10.

Not only has this issue been reported by me and a few other folks, I get people reaching to me on how I work around it. I've had several tickets open with the help desk.

What I do is first is choose a different DAX IQ channel (from 1 to 2, from 2 back to 1) and that seems to make both applications in the relationship happy.

However, when the radio becomes sluggish, with RTT reading high (as measured in Maestro/Network or in SmartSDR/Diagnostics in the 1000-9000 ms range), and won't respond to Cat controls commands, restarting slicemaster returns latency on the radio to normal (in my case between 20-75ms).

Hi, I don't think anyone has solved the problem I described in my first message in this session... and I haven't received any information from any OM. Has anyone solved it? I don't think it's a problem with modifying the Slice IQs but rather a problem with the dialogue between the Slicemaster application and the latest release 3.10.10. So has anyone solved it? Thanks.

Is there any word from Don on a solution to this? I have exactly the same issue. I was able to get it to operate 1 time and it appears to be related to Slice Master seeing the DAX channel correctly. I could not repeat the process to get it to run again.

I gave up trying to get 3.10.10. t work with S;licemaster and Flex says it isn't their problem and are not working on a solution so OI have gone back o 3.9.19 and it works fine every time

I've gone back to SmartSDR v3.8.23 and everything works as expected (minus the bug fixes in 3.9.x)- like the SMART-9370 RX antenna indicator is blank when using diversity).

Can the moderators of this chat ask the Flexradio programmers if there's a possible solution?

Slicemaster works perfectly with v3.9.19, but unfortunately not with the latest version v3.10.10.

Hi Don, I'm Alex ik5pwj, sorry for the inconvenience, but unfortunately the program you created, SliceMaster, no longer works with the new FlexRadio v3.10.10 release.

I contacted the administrators on the FlexRadio chat to find out what to do.

They replied that they're willing to work with you, but after more than two months, there's still no solution. I'm copying my message below,

along with a screenshot of the errors. I hope these problems can be resolved.

The problem I'm experiencing with the Slice Master program is this:During handling of the above exception, another exception occurred:Traceback (most recent call last):File:"flex\flexpy!,line 1309,in publish_updatesand other error etc.

And it won't open any WSJTX program, JTDX is all blocked.How do I fix this?I'm forced to revert to SmartSDR v3.09.19.

The errors reported above after opening a slice for JTDX, WSJTX, or CWSKIMMER don't work.

SmartSDR 3.10.15 has just been released, so probably worth checking if slice master now works after upgrading to this version.

SliceMaster is still not working. It is probably something that Don, K1DBO needs to fix. The end of the Flex UDP discovery packet no longer ends with a binary zero, so checking for that no longer works. I don't know if that is what Don is doing, or if that is even the issue that SliceMaster has, but I thought it worth mentioning.

Dear Pietro DM2DZM, could you send some screenshots where you can see the 3.10.15 version with slice-master vers. v0.11.0g??? It seems strange to me and I doubt it will work for you. Hi Peter, thanks for the screenshots and at this point the problem is solved or rather it is not present with your Flex 8400M. Can you confirm that you are using the v3.10.15 release on your Flex 8400M? I have a Flexradio 6600 and with slice-master v0.11.0g with Windows 11 Pro and it does not work even with the latest version v.3.10.15? So I went back to version v.3.9.19 and slicemaster works again. At this point the difference is the radio... your 8400 and my 6600. I hope the administrators of the Flexradio group do something to solve this problem. I should point out that I sent emails to DOM K1DBO again but he did not respond to the two messages I sent him, the first 2 months ago and the second 3 days ago. We'll see in the next few days... Hello, unfortunately, even with version 4.0.1, the problem of SliceMaster not working with the Flex 6000 series persists. It seems there are no problems with the Flex 8000 series, very strange. If anyone uses SliceMaster with the Flex 8000 series, can they confirm that it works with the latest release? Anyone with the Flex 6000 series? Unfortunately, nothing. I tried writing to the SliceMaster programmer three times in early September without receiving a response. He must be busy or have other problems. Asking is fair game, and answering is polite... but that's not the case... all is quiet.

Hi Alex, SliceMaster has not worked on my 6400 since 3.10.10. You might want to try SDC. As of 4.0.1, it is working great.

I am here to confirm that on my Flec 8600 with 4.0.1 Slicemaster 0.11g it does not work here too same error as Alex @Alex - IK5PWJ and impossible to start WSJTX, I wrote to Donald, hoping that he reads my request for support, we are now so dependent on these third-party programs that when they do not work we feel frustrated... we hope for an update that solves the problem, which apparently is not present for all users.

Unfortunately I notice that my friend Francesco IZ7AUH's flex 8600 has the same problems as me.

I see, or rather read, that LZ2BE who uses a flex 6600 has no problems and this seems very strange to me since it's me and 3 other OM friends who use flex 6600s for whom SliceMaster doesn't work.

Given that from messages read on some forums it seems that some UDP protocols etc. have changed, so if Slice Master still works for some people on the 6600, I really can't understand....

I ask LZ2BE if he can send some screenshots here with SliceMaster working connected to the 6600 and which program he uses, WSJTx or JTDX.

It's incredible to note that this topic doesn't interest anyone, neither the FRS staff nor the users. This impresses me because I wonder how others manage to use WSJTX, CWSKIMMER and other software without SLICEMASTER, I feel like an oddball, furthermore the lack of communication with Donald, the author of SliceMaster, seems very strange to me. Perhaps FRS intends to eliminate this developer because they are working on a similar project that they will soon bring to our attention SmarSDR+ users?

I'd like to know WHY you need Slicemaster. It seems redundant to me. WSJTX / JTDX connect directly to SmartSDR. If its an automatic launch thing, are people too lazy to press an icon to start the FT software?
