Will multiflex be included with the AU-520M? If not, is it included in SmartSDR+? Or, can I transfer my 6400M multiflex license to the AU-520M?

    Thanks,

They said the license stays with the radio.

grosler - When the Aurora 510 ships out will it be setup with a SmartSDR+ license for the first year?

I think it's pretty safe to assume the logic would be the same as current owners upgrading to SmartSDR+, the license would be good for one year from date of purchase.

Bill, as Greg noted the license is with the radio. It is not tied to the operator. Since the new Aurora you will be purchasing will include the latest version v4 and v4 has all the features of previous versions as well as the new features for v4, so yes Multi-Flex is among the previous features.

To elaborate on the radio license a bit more, your sell your FlexRadio 6000 or 8000 series, the license goes with it. Same thing if you buy a used radio, you get whatever that radio is licensed for and if it's an older version, it's your decision to upgrade or not.

The v4.01 Release Notes takes out the guesswork, as they go into and detail the SmartSDR Basic, SmartSDR+, and SmartSDR+ Early Access Tiers.

If your buying a new radio I would assume that all of the current software features would work on it. Since I'm buying a AU-510 I would assume that a SmartSDR+ license would come with it. But, I hate assuming anything and would like someone from Flex to let me know.

    Thanks,

Pretty sure the Flex marketing guy said SmartSDR + licenses have to be purchased in addition to new radios. But he's very sloppy and unreliable so it may not actually be true. We'll see …

The 520 is listed as $15,999 and the 520M is listed as $17,499 here in VK by the VK distributor. Thats a lot of money. I would hope for that amount of $, it has a years subscription to the SmartSDR+ version

I love the dollar conversion debate since the only thing they have in common is the world dollar. :)

Given it takes about $1.54 AUD to buy a single US$, that does make it hugely inflated.

We have the same sort of thing to deal with in Canada.

I have not read it anywhere that FlexRadio has changed their policy of what version a new radio purchaser gets. It was whatever the current version is gets put on the radio before shipping. Right now is SmartSDR+ v4.01 and not SmartSDR+ Early Access. The Early Access option is just that, an option. I think it would be wrong to assume you are going to get SmartSDR+ Early Access installed on a new purchase.

I know if I were buying a new radio with the current scenario, and I wanted SmartSDR+ Early Access is installed instead of SmartSDR+, I would be contacting the Sales Team before they ship my radio. It may even be a line item now when ordering, it did not check.

You would think that maybe with a new radio purchase, like the Aurora, you would get a years worth of Smart SDR+. Would be nice considering how much one is spending.
