Maestro C fan failure
Today during reading news and sitting in front of my 6600+Maestro, sudden noise started coming from Maestro C. Turned off Maestro - noise is gone, turned On Maestro - noise starting during initialization. Rotated maestro, at some angles noise is less noticeable at some more. 1 hour later noise is gone while I am typing that message.
It seems like a Fan inside is failed?
Did anyone had it yet, or I am the first lucky one? Maestro C is 2 month old.
Ticket is opened.

I don't know what the intake/outlet on the Maestro looks like, but is it possible something foreign has infiltrated from outside and is rubbing on the blades???

Do not think so. My desk is pretty clean, nothing can get inside besides normal dust and I keep my office pretty clean. Anyway, yesterday noise was coming on and going away, today it is gone. I did shut down and power up again for testing - no noise today. Seems like started to show up intermittently.
Working with Tim from Flex to see what will be next steps.
Thanks,
Sergey

So, does the Maestro-C actually have an internal fan?

It does have a small CPU fan. My maestro will go to Flex service. The noise is intermittent and coming on and off few times during the day.
Great support from Flex (and especially Tim !) .

In 2024 my Maestro was replaced due to Maestro FAN intermittent FAN noise.
Now, 2025 and noise is back. It is not as loud as last year but in the quiet room it is like "fly" keep making intermittent sound. If I move Maestro a little bit it may get a more loud or disappear for a few hours or days.
Some days I can forget about it and some days it is popping up again.
Going to open another ticket.
My only "venting" issue is that it seems like a cheap fan on Maestro CPU and I do not like the idea to pay shipment for repair since it is out of warranty. Hope Flex can source more reliable fans.

that sounds like the fan on the processor board (it comes with the processor). I think it is the only fan in the Maestro. Service will follow up with you on this.

I wonder if the proper sized heatsink could be added so a fan is no longer required.

I had a look. It isn't that simple.
