My order checklist for Q5 transverters to work sats with my 6600 - Does this look correct?
Corey at Q5 is super helpful! He responded that this (see below) is a popular configuration for working satellites with a 6600. My setup consists of the M2 LEO antenna kit, each antenna has a dedicated coax, the 70cm antenna has an external preamp (SSB-Electronic GmbH 1037-S). Do I need the HP model for working satellites?
At this point should I just get it over with and get a five band? Or do I need the two seperate models in order to work full duplex?
Thanks for any input!

L144-28HP75
IF Configuration: Common IF
RF Configuration: Common RF HP
IF Drive Level: 0dBm to +20dBm
PTT Polarity: Low (GND)
Local Oscillator Stability: High Stability
Standard IF - 28MHz or Custom IF - 50MHz
L432-28HP
IF Configuration: Common IF
RF Configuration: Common RF HP
IF Drive Level: 0dBm to +20dBm
PTT Polarity: Low (GND)
Filter Tuning: Wideband 430 - 450MHz
Local Oscillator Stability: High Stability
Standard IF - 28MHz
I followed up about the 50MHz custom IF on the L144. Corey said it may increase isolation for Full Duplex

I did a 50Mhz on one of my transverters as a test which will give you 4Mhz bandwidth on VHF as you selected. But, there is no reason why on an 2 SCU radio that you can't have 28Mhz on both transverters. The radios are very customizable. Good luck.

Thanks Mike! As usual, you answered my question yet left me with another. 😄
So the 50MHz is not necessary, the 6600 can utilize two transponders in full duplex with both SCUs at 28MHz.
Now you have me curious about the '4MHz bandwidth on VHF' … can you elaborate just a little bit more on that? Does that bandwidth come in handy for certain modes
Thanks

The 2M band (in the US) is 144-148Mhz or 4Mhz. That means the radio actually operates from 28Mhz to 32Mhz in both RX and TX.
For UHF, starting at 432Mhz, you need more than 4Mhz of bandwidth and if choose an IF of 50Mhz, you only have 4Mhz left in the radio as it tops at 54Mhz which takes you to 436Mhz.
This is why you want the UHF IF to start around 28Mhz so you have 26Mhz of bandwidth available IF your transverter supports that bandwidth/bandspread. Check with Q5 on the RF operational bandwidth.
<Radio IF> + <Transverter Offset> = <Operational Frequency>
Good question.
