I cannot post anything without getting "There was an error rendering this rich post."

I cannot seem to post without my plain text message resulting in "There was an error rendering this rich post.". How do I get around this? I see it is happening to others as well. Dana, K6NR

Hi Dana, I think by the time you have 5 posts here, the automatic anti-spam thing will decide that you are OK, and will give you more privileges. I don't know why some things post and others don't (rich post error), but I am fairly sure that you will be able to reliably post here after two more posts.

I hope you are right, thanks. Seems pretty odd that "anti-spam" keeps valid posters from posting.

You should not get that if you are posting plain text. What browser are you using?

Are you pasting in something from other source?

Might it be getting by something in an auto-signature?

Just plain text. I was using Firefox on a Mac, been trying Safari lately. I don't use signatures. Seems to be working better now.

@Mike-VA3MW and @Ken Wells , from what I can see, this is a Vanilla thing where people with less than 5 posts and who are not "verified" sometimes (but not always) get trapped by this rich text filter.

I don't know if that is configurable in Vanilla, but that might be something to look at. The forum SW is trying hard to prevent spam, but this may not be the best way to stop it.

There is no rule that does that. I checked in the admin panel and even searched under their help system. I have created new users who can post right away.

Dana…Are you typing directly in the "Leave a Comment" box or are you copying and pasting from another application?
