Removing old programs

I have a desktop computer that runs Windows 11. I have my Flex 6400 running on it now, and it is running fine. If I go into the Windows Control Panel and go to Programs and Features, I will find a list of 8 Flexradio systems SDR programs, going back to v3.5.9. Does anyone know if it is safe to delete all but the latest SDR, 3.9.18?

It is safe to uninstall them. I would not try to delete anything except for desktop shortcuts.

It is safe to remove old programs..

Beware, if you're not paying attention, you also remove DAX and CAT, But don't worry, when you're done uninstalling, reboot the PC and reinstall the lasted SSDR version which will reinstall DAX and CAT. And again reboot the PC. You will not lose any setups.

    All good comments above.

All the older versions are unique programs and none depend on each other.

I should do that as I think I have about 20 versions! :)

Thanks, it seems to me after reading Al K0VM's answer that it would make no difference if the CAT and DAX got deleted. It's the same version as the SSDR. If you don't uninstall the latest version, you should still have all three, SSDR, DAX and CAT.

Only one version of the DAX drivers get installed when the first time SSDR is installed. In following installs the DAX driver install is skipped unless there is a driver update ( the DAX driver has been not been updated in years). Its easy to uninstall the DAX driver when uninstalling SSDR unless your careful.

Uninstalling the CAT driver is a separate operation from uninstalling SSDR ( the CAT driver has not changed in years.).

The GUI's for DAX & CAT are updated with each SSDR update.

My only caveat as someone that installs 10s of versions of SmartSDR a week is that the uninstall/cleanup should be done BEFORE you install the version you want to use. When you uninstall the old versions, make sure you say Yes to "Do you want to keep the DAX drivers?" question. This will keep them from being uninstalled/reinstalled over and over. You can safely uninstall many versions and do a single reboot afterwards (as each one will likely prompt).
