q5 transverter not transmitting on FM or NFM mode, did work previously
Quick question about a problem im having with Q5 transverter on a flex 6600.
Ive had it for 2 years, and no issues with it.
But..In same setup, nothing disturbed, it does not transmit when the 6600 is keyed.
If I touch the rca cable from the flex to ground the xvrtr DOES transmit so the cable is good and transverter goes into transmit mode.
If I change to a different tx port and config the software it does NOT correct the issue
If I change mode to CW or RTTY or any sideband variant it DOES transmit.
Any experience with a problem like this?
I will try the transverter on a 6500 tomorrow, but just a recent development with the system here and looking for insight.

On the TX Band Settings screen, do you have your RCA jack selected?
In this example, I use two jacks, one for the transverter and one for the amp. As it turns out, I could have used one jack for both, but I was worried about different TX delay requirements for the XVTR vs the amp.
The TX profile is where this info is stored, so don't use Default, or it will get overwritten with a new release of SmartSDR.
EDIT: When you change mode from something else to FM, make sure that it does not select a different TX Profile.

I previously had it on tx2. It was still set for tx2, and it doesnt trigger the xmit.
I changed it to tx 1 or 3 to see if it is a port issue on the 6600, and it behaved the same, that is NO xmit on the transverter in FM mode but did on virtually any other mode.

I would submit a help desk ticket.

Can you post a screen shot of SmartSDR while it is in TX? It might help to see if something is not correct.

It has been running properly since 2022, but something between last week and this week happened…
It was a scrambled memory file, every entry from one prior to the memory location I was testing to the final memory had corruption. frequencies wrong, or text shifted or something messed up. wrong ctcss, wrong offsets etc
It was apparently out of band when I chose an FM based memory since they are the only memories that use the offset.
The 6600 apparently isnt going to trigger the ptt to the transverter if out of band, No error, but no transmit…
Did a factory reset, reset a memory and all is good.
Time to reprogram the memories..

You might also want to try the FlexRepeaterSpots utility.
