Looks like over driving?

I went into DAX and kept reducing tax and the output power went quite low. I have the DAX drive set to 45. To my eye this looks pretty dirty.
what advice would you have to clean this up?

Thanks

Peter

As I remember part of the tx monitoring function involves the RX circuitry,. What is your RX RF gain set at, it's value is displayed at the upper right corner of the Pan fall. You are probably over loading the RX. Turn the RF gain down, I can duplicate your problem with the RF Gain setting over +16dB.

yes that’s it. Those spikes are down around-100db. The primary signal is closer to zero db.
I have the RF gain set to +8 db. All ok

However there is still the issue of clicks on the transmission about every 5 seconds more or less. Thoughts?

same computer went back to ic 7610 clean as a whistle so it’s something to do with the Flex system software hardware or LAN

I have been running Flex radios for over 6 years with a Win 10 desk top, Win 11 desktop, and Win 11 laptop, I have never had any clicks pops etc. . I suggest that you open a ticket with the Help Desk, they can help you with network problems. If Mike is watching, he can help you with the ticket.

ok I’ve done quite a bit with computers and have a degree in electrical engineering. Now having debugged all sorts of systems it’s never really helpful to have someone chip in that they don’t have the same issue.

I’m familiar with Mike’s prior recommendations. How ever in this case the computer has 16 cores 4ghz clock speed feeding a level 7 mesh network running 650 mb/s So over load is still a reasonable issue to address I’m suspicious of another issue. After all if it’s an overload situation then the drop outs should occur while using a non flex radio as in this case SmartSDR was still running just not being used.

    we can eliminate overload

    Nothing running except SmartSDR

Display refresh cut to minimum no charge

    Problem persists

Hi Peter, glad to see you got your unit. Great news.

can you show the complete screen shot with the scale on the right.

You may also want to have a look at the RF actually transmitted as that is before most of the filtering. I doubt is is going out on the air.

thanks everyone. Correct signals are clean

clicks drop outs. Had what appeared to be a good cable but clearly it was not a good cable. Replaced it and signals are stable without dropouts.

I’ll do a detailed review on Eham. But already the issues I’d had 7 years ago are thoroughly resolved. Boy that ANF has improved light years!!

    Again thanks one and all
