Heil Pro 7 connection Flexradio 8600M

Dear all,

im a very new user of the Flexradio 8600M.

The Heil headset has for the microphone an mono plug installed.

On the 8600M their is an stereo plug socket for the mic installed.

Could i use the mono plug from the Heil in the stereo plug socket of the Flexradio?

Is this critical or could this causes a short circuit in the Flexradio?

    The small stereo Mic jack on the rear of the FlexRadio is a "pseudo-balanced" mic connection.

    The TIP is for Mic+
    The RING is for Mic-
    The SLEEVE is Ground/Shield.

    Using a MONO Mic plug from the Heil Headset will short the Mic- connection to ground, making a mic connection that should work, but it will be UNBALANCED (like most legacy radios)

    This should work, but will not have the noise/RFI rejection benefit that balanced Mic connections provide.

    I have found that on my Heil ProSet I had to add add an adapter that actually converts the Mono of the Heil headset to a Stereo adapter. We have advised Heil about this a few times. You can find adapters on Amazon that will do this. Also, if you search here in the community, the Amazon part number was identified.

    Ultimately, I replaced the Mono Mic connector with a Stereo one and only used Tip and Rig.

    The good news is that it is easy to make work. Also, you won't ruin anything if you try. It will either work or it won't.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
