Slice Master works quite well when I'm within my local network. Today I tried it from a Windows laptop away from the house, from the internet, for the first time. The laptop runs SmartSDR, PGXL, TGXL, AGXL, all perfectly when running remotely, through the internet. When I tried running Slice Master, it cannot find the radio. Can Slice Master only run when in your local network? If it can run remotely, what must I do to make this happen? I've not found this information as of yet.
SliceMaster can work with SmartLink.
OK, found the login for Smart Link within Slice Master. I think that may have done it. More to come.
I got Slice Master to connect to my Flex 6600 through SmartLink. It shows connected. But, it still doesn't control WSJT-X, or open it. When I open WSJT-X, Slice Master doesn't seem to make the setting correct to communicate with SmartSDR.
I'll submit a trouble ticket. I think someone with more knowledge could access my laptop and get it going in a minute.
You may have to submit a ticket with the SliceMaster author. Our tech support team doesn't do application support. Sorry.
Mike, is there a video that shows how to set up SmartSDR to connect to WSJT-X without the use of SliceMaster. I don't have to use it.
this is still current.
Thank you. This is very helpful. I've been able to get it set up to RX and TX, but for some reason WSJT isn't controlling the frequency. The slice isn't locked. When I select a band, it doesn't react and then displays a frequency in red. So, I've still got some communication issue. I would bet it is something simple, but just haven't been able to find it yet.
We need to see 2 screen shots. One of the WSJT Radio Setup tab and the other is of your SmartSDR CAT screen showing the Serial port you have assigned to WSJT.
When you use SliceMasater, the 2nd part using SmartSDR CAT is not required so you may have missed that part of the setup.
