Flex 8600 Production issues?

Can anyone advise on why there seem to be no Flex 8600s available anywhere? Is there a production issue? I heard that there was a delay on obtaining display screens for the M series, but obviously that won't affect non M models.
Still waiting for a replacemnt for my faulty 3 month old 8600 after nearly a month. Not a happy customer!

I imagine it is simply demand for the new radios and the lag in shipping time to Europe. WiMo in Germany have just taken delivery of 8600s and Martin Lynch will have them soon.

There was also a fan noise issue in some units and that may have had an effect on releasing units to Europe.

Presumably your 8600 came from ML&S and they would be the people to ask.

Thank you for your comments Erik. Yes, the radio was supplied by ML&S but they can offer no more information than 'They are expected soon'. Same answer they have been giving me for the past 3 weeks.

I e-mailed the sales department at Flex - no reply. I even e-mailed Mike Walker who couldn't offer any further information, but at least he replied!

I have to say that the support I was offered by Tim Ellison was excellent and he finally recommended the replacement.

However, it would be very reassuring to at least be offered some constructive information!

WiMo have had a new batch so ML&S must receive soon But yes, it is a real PIA. No radio and you do not have what you paid for. All you can do is wait it out. But I must admit, it cannot be beyond the wherewithal of Flex Radio or ML&S to know and advise what has / will be shipped and the associated time frame. I understand your frustration.

Make sure you are subscribed to the FlexInsider as we provide updates via that newsletter.

But, we are still not building as many radios / week as we would like, mostly due to supply chain issues and I know that is a tired term, but sadly it is true. You can't ship a radio without 100% of the bits that make it a working radio.

Point taken Mike and I do understand. I have (almost) an 8600, PGXL, ATXL, AG and a Maestro all gathering dust. It's like having a $20,000 car sitting on the drive that you can't use because it's waiting for a part! Somewhat frustrating!

Yes, we understand. Equally frustrating here too.
