    Hi,

My 8600M went pretty much directly to recommended modification after I received the radio. Radio works now as designed and noise floor is around 32 dBA. Thank you Tim, Cathy and Norbert for your light speed customer service.

    Helllo,

I immediately made gestures to install the new brackets. The new black ones are probably slightly better in terms of dimensions and also somewhat more stable in terms of material. The distance to the sheet metal is also good all round, visually I can't see that anything is touching it, although you can't rule out the possibility of vibration transmission from the brackets to the sheet metal. But it seems to me that this fan also has considerable resonances of its own. I also fixed the HDMI cable so that it no longer flutters around, but this is probably not the cause of the levels. The fan is now relatively fixed. I also had to remove the lower housing shell, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to get the fan onto the bracket. So much for the QRL hi.
Now the results. The normal level is now around 43-45db, so that's insignificantly less than before, so unfortunately it hasn't been a total success. I've already mentioned that the fan may not be running smoothly, so it's still humming away. My inquiries about the data for a replacement fan from NOCUTA or similar have so far gone unanswered. In my opinion, the fan that is now installed should be replaced in order to be able to assess the quality of a replacement, as this fan, even if it is not installed, is clearly too loud in contrast to the PC fans available here, but their electrical data probably do not fit. This fan produces a good 20db, the PC fans 7db!

Since my fan is apparently not quite right either, it should be replaced. But I can't get any information from either the manufacturer or the dealer about what type of fan I could install. Unfortunately, I can't get any answers via the ticket request either!

Does anyone here have a fan type that works with the software, not everyone works with 12V and 3 pin!

    tnx 73 de Peter
