I suspect this will be pushed back to you and not handled by the FlexRadio support team as they will determine this either a WSJT or MAC issue and not related to the radio.
Sorry

the other interesting twist is i can run macssdr from marcus and not use builtin FT8 but run wsjtx with the 8600m
this data always point me to 8600m panel client based on my limited upderstanding of current radio architecture
just saying…

Hello Paul,
I run my station with MacBook and Flex8600M using SmartSDR for Mac. WSJT-X and built in FT8 software both works fine in my computer after CAT, DAX and Loopback settings are routed properly. All necassary steps are introduced in App Manual - External Software section.
If you need any further info just let me know. I also had difficulties to set them in the beginning. After few hours of trial and error I opened the software manual hehe.
Stay safe,

well i have no issues withmy 6600m running same version ssdr on it as the 8600m
what should have been simple swap of cables is not…
MY 8600M does not want to register into smartlink…error message indicates its command is rejected by smartlink server
and
i a similar circumstance when with wsjtx error message is command timeout
when i run the 6600m every thing works just fine ….
i can register /unregister and register againinto smartlink
and wsjtx works just fine
i just think there is bad s/w load in my 8600m

Copy that. Maybe it is a router configuration related issue. Do you have necessary ports (TCP 4994, UDP 4993) open in your router for both 6600M and 8600M radio IP:s? I'm not sure is it needed in your setup or not, just an idea.
I made human error when I configured my router and accidentally mixed my TGXL and 8600M IP addresses and ports. Long story short in the end both TGXL and my radio froze and neither of them didn't work with each other (radio went into firmware crash mode and TGXL needed factory reset). After rebooting each one individually and double checking my router settings thighs started to work again. What I'm trying to prove here is that the root cause might be something else than first thought of.
I hope all gets solved soon and your 8600M will be on the air sending QSO:s.
