      Ok, understand. Please don't edit out any comments he might have made about the status of firmware updates. Perhaps you can just answer this: is the "APD, etc" firmware update which Flex last said would be released in Dec or Jan near completion ? Is there some new problem ?

      No need to edit out anything. It take a few hours to edit in the slides and I have spent all afternoon working on my presentation and I am 1/2 way through it. I will likely work some overtime tonight to try to finish it. Another 12 hour day!

      He showed the video clip I did of APD working on the air. I can share it does work and we are seeing good performance with it. No, I can't post the video clip (my VP said no).

      But… it isn't ready to be shipped just yet. There are a few gremlins that need to be resolved such that it is ready for prime time. I am not going to share what they are, but I can say the core part of the product is functional however the devil is in the details.

      Just like doing a bathroom renovation. You may be able to use the shower but it isn't too good if you don't have a towel rack or a soap holder. :)

      Ok, understand - thanks. I don't think there's any urgency to justify 12 hour days.

      Re/ the APD feature, it AND improved noise mitigation were stated as initial 8XXX features that would be released by the end of the year around Dayton time. They were listed together in many "here's what you'll get with an 8XXX radio" presentations in various venues at that time, again BOTH always clearly shown as projected for release by the end of the year. There's been less and less mention of improved noise mitigation features as time has gone on. I understand the month or two scale of delays from the initial plan but the improved noise mitigation features are still in this same timeframe, right ? Otherwise Flex would have told us ?

      One more question - we've been told the SSDR TGXL interface (and some analog meter display feature) were coming too for a long time. The TGXL interface has been a really, really long time. Are they finally going to be in the v3.9 release too ?

      Really Russ ? Lol, nice try. Sounds to me like the actual APD is working as designed but I'm guessing the finer details like the APD visual feedback yet to be perfected to their liking. Something to consider, this release and going forward will be the first of it's kind. That is to say it's the first time a release will have features enabled on 8xxx radios and disabled on 6xxx radios and vice versa. For example APD will be for 8xxx radios only and features like the new meters and SSDR TGXL interface would be for both 8xxx and 6xxx. Certainly a lot of more going on than ever before.

      I believe them when they say it's working but will be nice to see the implementation, and would be a lot more nicer to see in in my shack on my radio, just a little bit more patience I tell myself. Some new DXpeditions starting up to distract me.

      Has Flex decided not to release Steve's Hamcation presentation for some reason ? Mike, is there some reason you're avoiding my question above ?
