Local laptop at remote site cant show SmartSDR without open lid/display?

I have my 8600 setup somewhere in Sweden. I live in Copenhagen and access it remotely with Smartlink. All good. I do have a win laptop running 24/7 on the same network as the 8600. However, when I remote access it and try running SmartSDR it will not show the app on the desktop. It does start the app but only show it started on the process line but not windowed on the desktop?
I have a feeling that the reason is that the laptop lid is closed and as such do not have an active physical display when I remote access into it.... In fact I can replicate it on a mini win pc I use in Copenhagen. When power off the display and start SmartSDR the same thing happen - can't start SmartSDR from a remote access.
Please, how do I solve this? I have a web switch to on/off power and ptt in Sweden. But as I cannot start SmartSDR locally on the laptop I cannot update the 8600 to the latest version.
Do I really need to travel up there and open the laptop lid?
Thanks

Not sure how you are starting the app and seeing the process line but can't see anything else? How do you know it's running?
Only a thought but can you change what the lid does when closed in the power settings and see if that works?
Change the option 'Closing the lid will make my PC' to 'Do nothing'?

Thanks Rich,
I already have the "Do Nothing" set as the laptop would otherwise sleep or shut down.
As for the SmartSDR running I see the attached image where the icon on the process line has a line under it indicating it was started. Hovering the mouse over it just show a white empty frame. DAX and CAT do the same thing. I use Google Remote but Windows Remote Desktop works the same way0 -
Try entering move mode. If you can click on the smart SDR icon on the taskbar then press Alt+Spacebar+M to enter move mode. Then move your mouse and the window might come over on to the screen you can see?
This works when you have multiple monitors but then disconnect one and a program opens off screen.

Unfortunately not working Rich - I have only one screen and the move mode is grayed out. Probably time to create a support ticket0

No you don't right click on the task bar button, just left click so it's on focus. Then do the keyboard shortcuts and move the mouse without clicking any buttons, you might need to move it up/down or left/right depending on where the window is positioned.
