    hey Chris….

yep that was it…once i gave Terminal full disk access away it went…took less than 30 seconds to get it done…

have to write it up a nice concise process to give xDax microphone privileges…

    it works…

    Thanks for the magical incantations…

i was almost ready to get out the rubber chicken and swing it over my head three time ;-)

    Once again Chris Thanks…

now i can run from the main screen of my 6600m any digital modes and/or do band surveys or listen doing pedestrian mobil with my iphone …great to have it all back and using Sequoia MacOS too

Paul, glad you got it working as expected again! Sorry I didn't pick up on the fact that you guys were running Terminal sandboxed. That is, after all, the default in MacOS. It's just that I use Terminal for everything so it's one of the first changes I make when I fire up a newly installed system, and it just didn't dawn on my until I saw the screenshot with the error.

That is an excellent summary guide, hope it's useful for other folks who might run into this problem.

I don't know how long xDAX/xCAT will continue to work as Apple continues MacOS releases. They are both x64 binaries and right now they run on M-series silicon with the Rosetta2 translator. I suspect Apple will discontinue that after awhile like they did with the switch from PowerPC to x64 back in the day. Then somebody will need to get the source code and rebuild them for ARM64 (M-series).

    Footnote…

Shortly after the xDAX success, I launched Loopback to view my audio devices, and was surprised when it instead asked “OK to give ARK mic access?”.

I allowed, and ARK was back in the mic list. But, my Loopback audio devices were now gone.

During the xDAX manual insert activity, I noticed the Sequoia microphone list was much shorter than on Sonoma.

Looks like the Sonoma-to-Sequoia 15.3 upgrade cleared the microphone list. Possibly precipitating audio device issues when ARK lost mic access.

    Devices recreated, all working again.
