PSE UNKEY

Hi all, Only had the PGXL since Friday so still learning the ropes.
Just now in CW QSO with PGXL only at 1kw, running from my Flex 6600 nearing the end of about a 2 minute transmission I noticed the PGXL utility said PSE UNKEY and was not generating power.
I am wondering what is up with that?
Antenna was tuned 1:1 using my Palstar tuner. There were no network glitches as flex was doing fine.
Is there some kind of keydown timer? I was running 25 WPM with a key of 300 in the flex. I didn't want break in. So I suspect there is some max key down that is timer protected. Am I right?

So it looks to me like this is covered in the Timeout topic a little lower in this list

Timeout is not my cause of PSE UNKEY because I was sending only EI4KF EI4KF via a CW macro semi-breakin whilst calling TX7N. I had been calling for about 10 minutes prior without issue and, after I did unkey , the PGXL resumed and all was normal.
Can anyone surmise why it might have happened? The manual states that this error indicates that the amplifier needs to "make a change" but does not say what change and what circumstances direct it to make whatever change was required.
1KW to dynamic beam, low SWR, no RF in shack, no network glitches. Meffa engaged. 20ms delay set in SSDR, radio is 6400M.
I have no idea if this error poses a risk to the PGXL but it seems sensible to take steps to prevent a repeat. Not knowing why it happened makes that difficult so any information would be welcome.
Thanks,
Erik.

Hi Eric,
Try increasing radio TX delay to 40 ms and see if the issue clears. Then if you do not have a Tuner Genius or Antenna Genius, try going down to 30 ms.
Set CW delay higher than TX Delay.
20 ms is probably right at the minimum and might not be long enough, especially when amp fans are in standard mode and you do not transmit for 2 minutes. The amp power supply turns off bias after 2 minutes of no TX.Not sure if that is the reason you had an issue but try it out.
With a TG XL and/or AG, the TX Delay should be 40 ms.

Hi Dave,
I do not have the AG nor TG. PGXL fans are in contest mode. I had not stopped TXing prior to the error as I was sending my call to TX7N in the pile up.
I will increase TX delay per your advice and also CW delay if required to keep it higher than TXD. Thank you for the advice, much appreciated.
Erik.

try TXD at 30 ms and CW delay at 40 ms.

Be sure that you have properly selected your BAND DATA SOURCE for your PGXL
