6600 will not transmit sometime after v3.8.20 installation
I upgraded to v3.8.20 and operated for about a week with no problems. About an hour into the SS SSB contest the 6600 stopped transmitting. I dont usually work SSB so tried on all bands, modes, antennas. I have Flex tuner/amp/ant switch. I had added a Maestro C a couple of months ago but rarely use it but did try to see if it could invoke transmit. All the lights and bandscope show transmit but nothing is coming out. This is reflected in meters for 6600, the amp and the tuner which all show 0 power output.
I am hoping it is cockpit error so any suggestions appreciated for trouble shooting.
I have an 8600 ordered but who knows when that will get here!

Hi Roger, can you do a screenshot of SmartSDR?
By the way, I have you in my log from 2020 on 10 CW!

Just went thru the process of booting up all the boxes in the correct order, made no difference.
Its acting like finals in 6600 are blown.
Thinking about reverting to previous release but that could cause additional issues.
Saw no complaints about v3.8.20 online.
Every time I have problems I look at must be 1000pages of manuals associated with the gear and
realize even after all these years with Flex how much more I need to learn
Are you running v3.8.20?
Thanks for the offer.

Hi Roger, this pic shows that you are in CW mode. Does it not transmit in CW either?
One thing to check is the TX Band Settings screen:
Make sure that PTT inhibit is not set for any bands that you want to transmit on.
If it transmits in CW, but not SSB, then make sure that DAX is off.
If all of this is OK, then it would be best to submit a help desk ticket.
EDIT: Yes, I am running 3.8.20.

If you are someone who might be experiencing something like this, the next step is to reset your radio after exporting your profiles.

Hi Roger… you may have already tried this but….
- Can you try disconnecting the radio from the tuner/pa and connect a dummy load? Will it transmit then? In any mode? What does the RF PWR meter show when you try this way? (just trying to determine if this is a 'radio' problem or whether it's something down the line.
- If it won't output on SSB, can you see any movement on the 'Level' meter when you speak into the mic? (it should be peaking about -10 to -5db)
- On CW, do you hear the sidetone when you key the transmitter or is it completely silent?
- Does anything happen on the panadapter when you transmit?
Just some things that might help….
I agree, with Len… The people at the Help Desk are really helpful in these situations. And pretty prompt responding too…
