8600 Won't Stay Registered With SmartLink
I removed my 6600 and replaced it with a recently received 8600. Same connections to the network, matter of fact it's the same exact cat 5 cable that was plugged into the 6600.
I'm having a couple issues:
1 - When I bring up smartlink in order to register the rig, it takes several seconds for the radio to be populated into smartsdr setup window
2 - I click the blue smartlink setup then the blue register button. It takes several seconds to connect smartlink server
3 - I push my foot switch to register the radio, which it does successfully.
When I'm done, I close SmartSDR, restart SmartSDR and its asking me to register the radio again. I don't think I need to do this more than once, correct?
I did not unregister the 6600, could that be the issue?

I created a support ticket for this.
You can safely leave the FLEX-6600 registered without impact.
I do see it can take 2-5 seconds for the Name / Location to be retrieved, but that is mostly a one time thing.
