8600 shipping

A comment first. A little disappointed in Flex missing yet again a shipping date. Originally new radios were to be out in August and here I am in November without a shipping notification. Invoice was paid in September and my 6600 was sold in September in anticipation of shipment. You can imagine, not happy without a rig.

Does the radio just "ship" or is there a notification email sent out. Mine was ordered at Hamvention on Friday.

    It is a no-win situation for Flex. Customers demand shipping estimates. If anything gets in the way, Flex is soundly beaten for missing the dates.

    If Flex says that the radios will ship when they are ready and refuses to give any estimates, they are soundly beaten for that.

    H Mike… best bet is to contact Flex Sales Dept. They may be able to tell you where you are in the queue.

    AFAIK, people are receiving email notification when their unit is shipped.

    Guess that is something. The last notification said shipment at the end of this week for a bunch but the cone of silence is all Ive seen. I wish they would not promise shipping dates until they were actually ready. The same thing when the 6600 came out. Oh well.

    I design tube guitar amplifiers. I had a friend that also built amplifiers and had a strict policy. If a customer called and asked for updated status on a delivery date, their contract went into the trash can. Seems harsh, but was extremely effective! 🤪

    When may the 8600 just be purchased off the Flex web-site ?

    I am looking for a used 6600 but the prices for the pre-loved ones on the Flex web-site are hight and make purchasing the used 6600 from them for 3500 usd impractical.
