Settings output power
Hello everyone
How do I set the output power on each band? I enter TX Band settings and it doesn't work. I had to enter a limit of 20W in radio Setup so as not to overdrive the PGXL amplifier.

Personally, I use FRStack to set a 50 watt limit when the PGXL is online.
If you happen to overdrive the PGXL, it will protect itself (ask me how I know .. :) ).

Hi Slawomir… there's also the Settings/TX Band Settings screen:
where you can set RF and Tune output power for each band. However, I don't believe it's ANT specific (i.e. different settings possible for ANT1 and ANT2), so you may need something like FRStack if you need that level of refinement/adjustment.
Also, I believe there's something available in the PGXL configuration s/w???? (I don't have a PGXL, so I'm just guessing from previous discussions)

Hi, I have the power set for individual bands like that but it doesn't work. I have to limit the power in the TX Max Power tab. I have no problem with PGXL. But my 80m antenna doesn't handle more than 500W and I have to limit the power in Flex-6700 on this band to 6-7W so that PGXL sends 500W to the antenna.Slawomir/

In Smart SDR, the power limit on individual bands does not work. In the TX Band Settings table, there are fields for entering the power limit on each band. Unfortunately, this is only a theory. Will Flexradio improve this very necessary function to make it work?

TX Band Settings are part of the Transmit Profile. Transmit profiles are automatically saved after each time you change them. It shows the RF power that the current band is set to.
This is how it all ties together. In a transmit profile, you have an entry for each antenna (1 or 2) and then on top of that each band as it relates to 1 or 2. If you change the power while operating, it is remembered by antenna port and band.
Have a look at section 18.2 of the SSDR manual.
I have 2 transmit profiles. One for 100 watts and one for Amplifier.
That is how it works currently.

Hi Mike, thanks for your help. I use these settings. But I would like to ask if it will be possible to set the power limit in the TX Band settings table so that the power data on each band is saved permanently. In earlier versions of SmartSDR it was possible.

I will pass on your request, but I also need you to add this to the "New Ideas" area and have people upvote it.
I can't move this discussion there sadly, or I would.
