Has anyone had problrm with message"Slice limit has been reached. Close a slice and try again".
I just purchased a used Maestro. It apparently was used with ver 3. I had trouble getting it to display ver2 options. when I did It booted up found the 6300. it opens up with neither slice A or B were active When I selected a slice. it displayed above message. I can do nothing to clear the message

When you get this message, it tells the story.
It looks like you have 2 slices open on your PC or MAC and since the 6300 has a limit of 2, you are trying to open a 3rd slice.

I bought this Maestro to take to my winter home I already have a Maestro which I have no trouble opening both slices.

Thanks for the update.
If you get a support case opened, then will help you out.
Make sure you do not have 2 slice operating anywhere else at the same time.

I have a 6500 and don’t have any slices open on it. I am remote now and get this message. What should I do?0

Do you by any chance, have a Maestro or SmartSDR connected to the radio at the radio location? Your slice limit could be taken up local to the radio, leaving none for your remote station.

Bob, Some questions
When you try to connect do you see the option to close another session? I know from a IOS device it gives you that option, I can't remember if Windows or MAC SmartSDR does though.
Do you have a way to power reset the Radio when running Remote which should clear the connections or other issues?
What version of Firmware are you running on the radio?
What device are you using remotely, WIN PC, MAC, IOS, or Maestro?Do you have multiple users that could be connected?

I got this too, for the first time today. It seems I got to this "Slice limit reached" when my Maestro crashed (unknown reason why), and it maybe left a couple of "zombie" connections. When I rebooted my Maestro, I could see a Connected Station, but couldn't disconnect:
I rebooted everything 😀 Then it worked again. Maestro power-down, '6400 remote-power-down (but still connected to PowerPole 12V).
To answer all the helpful Q's that were asked here:
- No other PCs or connections to my '6400.
- Fresh upgrade to version 3.8.19 with perhaps one hour of use (on-time)
- When problem occurred, my Maestro displayed no active slices. Tap-selecting to activate one brought the Slice Limit message 😯
