Maestro "C" sidetone too weak
Options
Hi, the sidetone of my Maestro C (Software 3.7.4) is too weak when using the internal keyer with a paddle or a straight key. I know how to set the sidetone level and it is already set to 100%. Nevertheless, when the band or the environment is noisy, I would prefer to have a much louder sidetone.
I could turn down a loud sidetone to a comfortable level, but currently I am lost in loud environments.
Is there a way to increase the sidetone level?

The Speaker in the Maestro is pretty small. What if you used powered external speakers.
The speaker audio is pretty audio, but likely not enough in a noisy environment. To try to drive it with more power will likely cause distortion.
I gather you can't use headphones?

Hi, thanks for your comment. This would help in a loud environment. As an external speaker cannot distinguish between the signal and the sidetone, the SNR would not be changed.
In fact, the receiver output is much louder than the sidetone, even with 100% sidetone level.0 -

You might try resetting the radio and see if that helps.
