Why is SmartSDR 3.6.8 giving me so many errors...what have I done wrong!

So I updated the software and boy has it been a ride. First I had to beat Avast into submission and let me actually connect to my radio. Now that issue is solved I keep getting error messages, I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3.6.8 about 4 times and keep getting the same messages....a little help please!!!! <edit>I just downgraded to 3.5.8 and it works fine.

    Looks like you have some issues with the default audio device. Install 3.6.8, then go to windows Control Panel/Hardware and Sound/Sound and check the configuration. Make sure to select the correct default device.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
