I believe this question needs more than a single word answer ;-)
If you have a FLEX-6700 or FLEX-6500, the only thing that is needed is a TURF file which you can get from opening a HelPDesk ticket and providing a copy of a valid MARS license and the serial number of your radio.
If you have a FLEX-6400(M) or FLEX-6600(M), then you need the TURF file as noted above in addition, you must have an extended transmit module installed in the radio. This can be field installed or it can be installed by the service department if you already have the radio or installed at the time of purchase. However, if you have the service department install the module, they will perform a complete test and calibration of the radio with the module installed to ensure it is working correctly.
If you have FLEX-6300, this radio is not capable of being used for MARS.0 -
I am a CAP communicator and the Flex is not listed on compliant radios. Is the Flex 6600M approved?0

Who does the approving?
And, if we are not on the list, what do we need to do to get on it?
(have them email us at info@flexradio.com and we will work with them)
BTW, we sell a LOT of radios for MARS / CAP operators.

Yes they work fine, There are MARS members whom have built custom Profiles for both Voice and Digital at the same time using 2 slices, Very Slick setup.

For CAP operations the radio has to be compliant with federal NTIA (Redbook) standards for frequency stability and bandwidth. However, the standards also require that the radio have fixed (not user accessible) programming for frequency (channelized) and all other performance parameters.

Hi John
If that is the case, then no amateur radio has locked down fixed channels and your only choice is commercial HF radio equipment.
All Amateur HF radio equipment is VFO tunable with memory channels.

If you have a Stream Deck, you can set up a multi-action switch to toggle the slice mode between USB to DIGU. This way you can do everything on one slice.
