PG TG input/output impedance
My setup: 6700, TG, PG.
On the PG input I have a two way switch. In one postion it connects PG to 6700 and I use it with PG and TG powered. Everything works fine.
I second position it connects antenna socket of my Kenwood TS 480, both PG and TG are switched off. TS 480 is used for Pactor mode.
Problem: While tuning TS480 using its ATU SWR remains very high, and a reasonable SWR can not be achieved on all bands. Basically I attempt to tramsmit through PG and TG.
Questions: In Power Off position, is the input and output connected straight in PF and TG?
Is the input/ output impedance close to 50 ohm and filters bypassed?
I do appreciate all comments.

It sounds like there is a problem with your switch. If it is something like a CS201, open it up and have a look.
What you want to do does work. Something is broken with either a patch cable or the switch.

I have to check tomorrow but believe the TG XL grounds antenna connectors when in Standby. Test with TG XL in operate but Bypass mode, not in circuit. See if SWR is normal. PG XL in Standby passes RF straight through.
