I see that it is boom mount, and I'm assuming it connects to the computer he uses.

    I use a Rode PodMic for my broadcasting.

    I use a RadioSport headset for SSB.

    I have learned not to the use the RadioSport for podcasting and the Rode for HF radio. They sound terrible if not used for the correct purpose.

    I think that is a good idea.

    Bob Heil did a lot of research on Mic elements and he did a great interview with Leo Leporte regarding the correct audio shaping for SSB communications and his studies with Bell Labs.

    I tried to find it, but I couldn't put my finger on it.

    And, this starts the great debate. For me, Excellent SSB communications is about being heard well and clearly hearing what I am saying even with a weak signal.

    I can't tell you how many times I have worked an S4 QRP guy first time in a big contest but I then can't understand the 40db over S9 person with a signal who is trying to sound like Venus Flytrap on WKRP (I apologize if that is a way too old reference). :)

    It really depends on what you are trying to achieve.

    Sorry for the rant. It is a favorite of mine.

    OK - so I bit on the Radio Sport headset sale, but got the cable for the Maestro I'm expecting "Any day now".

    Actually, got an email about it coming sometime in November, so I'm not holding my breath, but . . .

    You may want to return that cable as it will not be the correct one for the Maestro C.

    I'll be sending out an FAQ on all that stuff shortly (tomorrow at the latest).
