3 computers on same LAN - Why can two access my remote 6400 but the third can't?
I'm in the process of soak testing a remote station. It's currently in my shack but is on an isolated VLAN which connects to the main LAN by an OpenVPN tunnel. This simulates the likely remote environment, where I hope to piggy-back on somebody else's WiFi.
As the VPN tunnel is a routed VPN (rather than bridged) I use Smartlink to access the 6400 from my hame LAN devices. I have a Windows computer running SmartSDR and two Macs (Mac mini and MacBook) running SmartSDR for Mac. All are logged into the same SmartLink account.
The windows computer and the Mac mini have no problem connecting to the 6400 using Smartlink, but the MacBook does not see the remote 6400 in its list of radios - only the demo.
I've tried logging out and in again, but no difference. Any ideas?

If the MacBook can't see the remote radio via SmartLink then something is blocking or it is not reaching the SmartLink servers to actually retrieve the routing information. At least, that is just one thought.

Just to close this off, and thanks to Mike to pointing me in the right direction.
There were two reasons I was not seeing the Flex from my MacBook.
- I hadn't ticked the "Enable SmartLink" box to see the radio through that method.
- The Flex will eventually be at a remote site (when I find a site :-), and sits on an isolated LAN segment accessible over a VPN connection. As the VPN is routed, SmartSDR cannot detect it automatically. Once I entered a manual IP address, it showed up.

As MacBooks only sport WiFi Internet connections, I’d look to your WiFi connection to the MacBook for the problem.

I use my MacBook on Ethernet with a dongle.
