SmartSDR for Mac and Slices

Hello:

I have a question about slices. When I run the Flex 6400M along with the SmartSDR for Mac, I can use my radio for CW and listening etc, while my SmartSDR for Mac is tuned to FT8. My question is about slices. It seems that Slice A is shared by the radio and SmartSDR for Mac in this fashion. I cannot seem to get Slice B to be SmartSDR for Mac, and Slice A be the Flexradio itself. Is this just the way it is?

Thanks

You end up with 2 Slice A's, but they are 100% different.

You have Slice A on the 6400M and then Slice A on the MAC.

As it is on a 6400 which is a single SCU radio, they share the same antenna -- Antenna 1 or Antenna 2.
