I have a software program that sends CW (straight key) to a COM port, but no output on radio

I have a program called MRP40. It uses a com port to send CW keying to a phone plug. I have this plugged into the CW port on the back of the 6600M. When I send the key sequence to the comport I get the side tone only no actual RF output, the same with a key plugged into the same port. What have I got wrong? It seems it worked before.

Do you have iambic keying disabled?

Do you have the "Breakin" button on the CW Transmit control panel activated? That is required to switch the radio from receive to transmit in CW mode. Otherwise, you will hear the sidetone without transmitted output.
