SmartSDRCAT 3.2.39 has lost my comports

When I started my 6400 yesterday evening, SmartSDRCAT only showed COM14 and TCP Port 5002. This is both when using my Maestro or SmartSDR v 3.2.39. I am using a 7 or 8 year old Dell Inspiron desktop running Windows 10 Home. All the ports still exist in Device Manager. I don't show any recent updates to Windows and I haven't made any changes or software additions. I did uninstall Smart SDR, DAX and CAT and reinstalled 3.2.39 but no change. If I connect remotely from my HP laptop via Wi-Fi the ports are there. The laptop is running a recent update to Windows 11.
I am not sure what to do next. Any suggestions of what to try are appreciated.

Sadly, what I have seen is that this problem might come back and about the only fix to resolving it is a clean re-install of Windows. Yes, it sucks.
However, there are a few people on the community who had to go down that path to 100% fix it.
