Find-A-Freq
For us contesters:
Include a line on the spectrum that represents signal level averaged over a long time span, such as 1 minute (adjustable). Suggest boxcar average, not exponential decay. Invert the levels, so that a peak represents a LOW signal level, i.e. a clear frequency. Perhaps mark the highest two or three peaks with a cursor. The peak detection can take into account the active receive bandwidth.
When looking to find a spot to call CQ ('RUN') on, this would be a quick way to find a clear frequency.

The waterfall already does this, and very well. If you set the waterfall speed such that the whole vertical period is about 30 seconds to a minute (or more), open frequencies are shown very clearly.
