Flex 6600M Rack Mounting Option Details

Is there any detailed information available for the Flex 6600M rack mounting option?

A photo and/or a mechanical drawing with dimensions would be helpful.

Is this option a set of ears the attach directly to the sides of the radio or is it a tray with a front panel cutout that the radio sits on? I don't see any mounting holes or threaded inserts on the sides of my 6600M.

My preference would be a rack mounting system that allows the front panel of the radio to extend a couple of inches out, beyond the rack panel plane.

Attached is one of the worst pictures known to man, but I had it handy so I'm posting it (this is from our test rack at FlexRadio). The ears are straight and extend from the side of the radio, flush with the front. Again, apologies for the picture and hopefully a better one will be posted soon ;-) Also apologize for the orientation.

OK Steve, thanks for the quick response and photo. Can the rack mounting ears be reversed so that the front of the radio can extend beyond the rack panel plane?

I believe the answer to this is no. I’m not sitting in front of the plates, but my recollection is that the **** holes will allow one mounting method. I can check when back at the office if no one beats me to it.

I am thinking about reconfiguring my equipment into a rack. Could someone please confirm the number of rack mount units the 6600M would take and do I need to leave 1U above and below like on the 6700?

The 6400/6600 rack ears actually require (3) EIA rack units (5.25") of rack space, but the total rack space required is almost (4) RU (7") because the bottom of the radio has a drop down. I made a (1) RU custom panel to fit the drop down below the front panel. (see attached photo).

The top and bottom of the 6400/6600 do not have air vents so little or not space above and below is required, however the side vents need space for air flow into the radio from both sides for cooling.
