Remote setup using HRD

in Remote Operation (SmartLink)

When using Smartlink to operate remotely do HRD logbook, rig control, and DM 780 need to reside on the host computer? Can it work if just active on the remote computer?

    You can run HRD on your remote computer or computer local to the radio just by using SmartSDR for CAT and DAX while running SmartSDR on the remote computer. They all work well together.

    You will have better digital operations using DM780 on a computer local to the radio and then using remote desktop to connect to it. If you try to use DM780 on the computer that is remote (the user computer) you will have fragmented audio at times and for digital decoding, that isn't too good.
