Making a Contest Contact at 14.349

There was a station at 14.349 and it was UT4U. I tried to make contact with him and the transceiver would not key. I never had that problem ever before with any of my prior transceivers. WHY?????? I am operating USB. Is this defeatable? If he can transmit at that frequency, why can't I?

Chris nailed it! Make sure you know your band limits. Especially if you are only a general class.

I had so many Americans call be below 7125 and 14150 that it was scary during the weekend.

To keep myself from making that mistake, I added code to my TeensyMaestro to put an **Out_Of_Band** spot on my panadapter. Has saved me a number of times!

Maybe I will port this functionality over to C# so that it can be run on the same computer as SmartSDR without the need to build anything.

I have a table of frequency allocations and license classes (American...) that can be tweaked if the rules change. I will post a new thread if I decide to create this little utility.

I saw a JA on 21.473 or thereabouts calling CQ. Dont know how many calls he got, but in VK band only goes to 21.450. Not sure about other parts of world. Im guessing most parts of the world are the same as us.

As a reminder I put permanent TNF’s at the band limits. With a roughly 3k width, they have been successful so far.

Hi Wayne.. according to JARL, Japan has same band limit on 15m as the rest of us (21.450), so one of you has a serious tuning calibration problem ;-)
