How do I hear the transmitted FT8 or RTTY signal that I am sending?
I have a 6400M. But I noticed this evening when I transmit FT8, I can not hear the transmitted signal. And this occurs with RTTY also. I know there is a monitor button on SmartSDR, but I pushed that in and still didn't hear anything. To be honest the only functions of SmartSDR that I use is CAT and DAX. And yet, I can hear my CW sidetone when I transmit CW.

I found out that when one pushes one time the power button why operating a digital mode and menu comes up and there is a MON with slider to the right of that. I pressed it in and transmitted FT8 and I heard the transmit signal.

Is that the button that says TX MENU underneath it?
That is for Transmit Menu settings. Very powerful button and it is discussed in this video. You may find it helpful.
