CW paddle not working

I have a bencher paddle connected to my flex 6400, and it is set on iambic mode, but it does not key. the paddle ohms out correctly, so i am certain it is working as designed. Could someone help with a checklist of settings i could use to help troubleshoot?

A few things come to mind:

    1. Make sure you are in CW mode. The rig does not key the sidetone when in other modes like some radios do.

    2. Make sure the sidetone is on and with enough volume to hear.

    3. Make sure the sidetone pitch is greater than 100 Hz.

There may be other things to try, but that is what comes to mind.

Oh... Just to be sure, you do have it plugged into the key jack and not one of the other jacks by mistake, right?

Make sure the active CW slice is also set to TX otherwise it won't key.
