No slice

Member ✭✭

Hi all

After a problem I encountered, I reinstalled SmartSDR version 2.6.2.

I have configured JTDX (version 2.2.0-rc152) properly, and using Omnirig 1.18.

I receive no signal at all on the JTDX screen (no filter on), and the Slice 1 RX stream slider shows no signal at all.

What could be the source of this "no slice" issue, while I do have slice A working properly on the SmartSDR screen ?

Thanks for your help + 73

Forgot to mention... and I just realized this, slice B does work (steaming does show, and JTDX does decode)

I think this is important to know in order to solve the issue on slice A.

Also, the problem started before I uninstalled and reinstalled SmartSDR.

    Thanks

    Problem solved...

The DAX was set to "None" on both sides (left menu, and P/CW menu)

Setting it properly to 1, and it's working fine again !

73 and sorry for useless bandwidth.

A recommendation is to write a checklist of items you find that prevents decoding. I find now and then I find I have a problem with a slice. I tend to forget some of the obscure things that have happened.

    Like:

    mode not set to DIGU

The DAX not set to the proper channel.

wsjt not set to right mode

DAX window RX button grey or yellow

Recycle RX button off and on

DAX button on radio applet not highlighted.

green audio bar not showing audio on wsjt

RX bandwidth set low like 100 Hz instead of 6kz

wsjtx RX audio not were you think it is in settings

restart your wsjt, SmartSDR, reboot computer, Flex radio one at a time as you see fit as a last step.

How these things happen are sometimes obscure and sometimes not so much. But there are a lot of items that can cause an issue so having a checklist will reduce the problem solving every time something may occur. Also when you find a new item you can added it to your checklist. You will be a lot less frustrated I guarantee. I am sure I have missed some items but you get the idea.you can arrange in your own priority sequence.

As a separate item, I have found things interface a little better when Slice A is DAX Channel 1, Slice 2 is DAX Channel 2 etc. (not related to your issue)
