Dummy load or Not ?

Good morning all ,
I am a new user of a Flex6400 in 'remote' with a maestro.
I only have an antenna connected to the radio.
Is it safe to place a dummy load on the ANT2 socket if, in transmit mode, you do something wrong on the Maestro 's touch screen?
best regard's Patrick

Hi Patrick, yes that is fine. When I first got my Flex 6400, I hung a 300W dummy load on Ant 2. Lately, I have been moving the rig from home to my 5th wheel camper and back on a frequent basis, so I have stopped connecting the dummy load. Now that my home and portable operations have settled into a good routine, I have much less need for the load. If I am doing some experimenting, I just reconnect. In any event, there is no harm in it and possible advantage that you will not transmit into an open port.

Yes, a good idea in the case where you accidently transmit on Ant2 by mistake. I currently have a dummy load connected to mine for this purpose. dan WA1QZX

thanks for your comments, that made good sense, but it's heartwarming to have some advice ... I'm running to order a dummy load from DXenginering ..0
