Node-Red Flow to Alarm and Inhibit Flex TX When in Extra Class Sprectrum

Smart SDR will inhibit TX when outside Ham Radio Radio Spectrum. Similarly, this Node Red flow will provide alarms and inhibit TX when in Extra Class Sprectrum.

Node-Red Flow to monitor Flex VFO Frequency for entry into Extra Class Frequency spectrum. When Extra Class Sprectrum is entered the flow will: 1- Inhibit Flex TX, 2- Sound an audio Alarm, 3- Show an Alarm Flag for ten seconds on the Dashboard, and 4- Change the background color of a dashboard tile to red.

When VFO frequency is returned to General Class Frequency Spectrum, TX Inhibit is turned off, a "General" alarm flag is shown for ten seconds, and the tile background changes to green.

The Node-Red file and Instructions are uploaded to the Node-Red Ham Radio Group Forum:

Requires FRStack be installed.

Dashboard showing "Extra Class" Dashboard. The alarm clears after ten seconds.

On further thought, I added a button to show the current status of TX Inhibit.

If you want to override the TX inhibit, when in Extra Sprectrum, pushing the button will "toggle" TX Inhibit ON/OFF.

Based on input from John, W9KXQ, I made some changes.

    • Added a button to turn the TX Inhibit ON/OFF. John is an Extra Licensed ham, but wanted to be able to know when he entered Extra Spectrum without having his TX inhibited. John also has other General Licensed hams who may operate his station, so he wanted the option to toggle the TX inhibit on/off.
    • Added a second flow to show if you are in CW spectrum. Audio and visual alarms are show upon entry/exit into/from CW Spectrum There are no automatic actions initiated.

Flows are uploaded to the Ham Node-Red Forum as above.
