i have just bought a stylus thinking that would help, it still does the same thing

I just want to know if others are having this issue or if there is an issue with my radio?

Hi John, does it matter if you hold a little vs a quick tap? It almost looks like switch bounce where you get a double hit causing the screen to come up, then shut down right away. I don't have a Maestro, so I can't try it myself. 73, Len, KD0RC0

i have tried every way, i have even had someone else try it on my radio the same thing happens. if you hold it pulls up copy and paste stuff. you have to tap, also you will notice it puts the cursor where i tap so it knows where im pressing0

I let them know I think this is a bug, the new radio came today and as soon as I plugged it in and tested the results were the same. also i got a 'me too' on this question by another user, and i had a few people at my home try the touch screen on my radio (old and this new one) and it does the same for all that tested it.
I'm pretty sure this is going to be a windows issue and not something they may be able to resolve. so i suggested maybe just putting a keyboard icon on the lower right of the menu, so it can also be triggered manually if need be.
I don't know how you report an official bug, i just sent it through a ticket i already had open with them, I hope it makes it to the bug list.0 -
I found a work around, I have not been able to reproduce this issue on other windows touchscreens, but i found a consistent way to get the keyboard to load. I don't know why i even thought to try this but it works.
Do not tap, tapping only loads it once and a while and other times as you saw in the video it just closes as fast as it loads.
Do not press and hold in the box as that just brings up copy/paste stuff. (context menu)
The solution is swipe in the text box. just a quick swipe. it does not have to be very far, just a 1/4 of an inch. It does not matter if you swipe in the box from right to left or left to right. But you will find if you swipe, the keyboard will load correctly almost every single time.
